Does the LHV pose any threat to the Earth or Mankind?

I read something from Ivan Gorelik saying that they are going to be doing something on 11/9/2010 that could destroy the earth. Is he a crackpot? Can the LHC create a blackhole or strangelet or something that could destroy us? I'm very worried!
