I made a mistake with groundbeef?

I dumped my groundbeef into a pan with raw onions and minced garlic then I realized that the package had way more ground beef in it then the recipe called for (I had alot on my mind). Can I freeze the extra groundbeef with the raw onions and minced garlic? It was never frozen before. I was just wondering if the onions and the garlic would be fine frozen??
