Why does Obama Say Gov't Should Pay $8,000 Per Year for Daycare So a Mom Can Flip Burgers for $12,000 at McD's?

let me fill you in on a little secret. when a daycare accepts government subsidized payments for daycare, they literally starve themselves out. the government decides what it is willing to pay the daycare, based on the parent's salary. no matter what the going rate at that daycare is. now, the government sends a check directly to the daycare to pay that predetermined price. here's the kicker. the daycare may NOT charge the difference to the parent. so, if the daycare's going rate is $400/month and the government decides the parent should only be charged $150/month, that daycare is SCREWED! that daycare gets $150/month for that child. that's it. but wait, there's more. once a daycare is signed up to accept government isted children, the government, in turn, makes sure that every time there is a vacancy at that daycare, it is quickly filled with another government isted child. and thus, the vicious cycle begins. your daycare quickly becomes strictly government isted and broke. yet another example of our government running a small business into the ground.
